Then the Pollock started coming on board with Richard Everritt getting off to a flier. Most fish being caught were of a very decent size.
The day continued with three wrecks tried and a steady enough stream of pollock being caught with the odd pouting here and there. Everybody on board caught pollock.
Mention in despatches to Richard Everritt and Rob Choules who were joint top rods for the day with eight pollock apiece.
Total pollock caught on the day was thirty five so not a bad day at all.
I am fairly certain a good day was had by all, many thanks to those members who actively support the club by actually going fishing.
Wild Frontier - Saturday 18th February
This was the first trip of the year and it seems a long while ago that we managed to get out. We all met at the boat at 0730 hrs. This trip had a full complement of club members which was nice to see.
Richard (from Katie Ann) was Clem’s crew member so everyone knew that he is helpful in assisting when needed with tangles, netting fish etc.
The weather during the day was absolutely fantastic, clear skies and bright sunshine. Some people ending up in t-shirts!!
After the usual couple of hours steaming out to the chosen wreck, we were into our first drift. Derrick started the ball rolling with a presentable ling.
