Wild Frontier Sat 13th March 2016
This was the first club trip of the year, so we headed out of Weymouth harbour on Wild Frontier with great anticipation.
The weather was bright and sunny, no wind and the sea was like a mill pond so all we needed were the Pollock.
After about two and a half hours we arrived at our first wreck of the day. Stuart Kennedy got off to a flier, bagging three Pollock in quick time with his short trace which seemed to be working well.
Some decent fish came aboard but after a couple of hours the tide dropped off and fishing went quiet so Clem suggested it was a good time to move to another wreck.
On arrival the fishing began to pick up again with everybody catching.
At the end of the day everybody had caught a decent amount of fish.
Congratulations to Rob who was top rod for the day with nine decent Pollock.
All fish were filleted by Clem the skipper and an added bonus to the day was the appearance of a very large pod of dolphins close to the boat.
All in all a great day out. Good bunch on the boat which adds to a pleasurable day.
Thanks to those who fished and supported the club.
